The Art. EM edging machine, one of the most highly appreciated items within the Forel range, is designed for the accurate processing of monolithic and laminated glass pane edges. The platform can perform arrissing (seaming), flat edge grinding and polishing.
The Art. EM edging machine is usually used as a vertical processing line, but can also be used at the start of an insulating glass line, to feed a tempering furnace or as part of an integrated sorting system. The Edging machine Art. EM stands out for its synchronised vertical and horizontal movement of the operating head.
On the Art. EM, a continuous train of heavy-duty suction cups hold perfectly still, glass panels up to a weight of 200 kg per linear metre.
At the end of every work cycle, a dry air cleaning system manages the removal of any residual moisture.
Both operating heads are equipped with a patented fastening system, designed to hold the glass piece still at the point of application. This feature consists of two opposing self-adjusting wheels that position the glass centrally to the tools whilst removing and vibration or deflection. This system is especially useful when the glass pane is not perfectly flat.
A patented system that constantly maps the edge of the glass during the arrissing process, the forward feeler instantaneously communicates position to the following heads guiding them into the correct position.
A series of sensors measure the height, length and thickness of the individual pane, enabling the machine to process variable glass pieces without any manual adjustment.
The Art. EM edging machine is designed to manage large workloads, guaranteeing optimum productivity. To keep the wear on the tool under control, the true diameter of the grinding wheel is regularly measured by a special feeler.
